The Belt and Road(B&R) initiative is a development strategy started by the Chinesegovernment in 2013.B&R refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-CenturyMaritime Silk Road. The former links China with Europe through Central and Western Asia, and the latter connects China with Southeast Asian countries, Africa and Europe.

In order to promote collaboration on integrative zoology among countries and region alongside B&R and the world, the International Society of Zoological Sciences(ISZS)

the 8th International Symposium of Integrative Zoology(ISIZ)25-29 July 2016, in Xilinhaote, Inner Mongolia, China with the theme "Response and Adaptation of Animals to the Rapid Global Change."
