In recognition of its great contribution to and efforts in organizing and promoting the ICZ and ISZS around the world.

The Hellenic Zoological Society has made a great contribution in resurrecting the ICZ by organizing the XVIII ICZ in Athens, Greece in 2000 and establishing the ISZS in Beijing, China in 2004. It has captured the ICZ and ISZS as the leading forum and vehicle to provide a global voice for zoologists. Through its work, it continues to promote both the ICZ and ISZS in the world.
