In recognition of his exemplary contribution to and his indefatigable effort in organizing and promoting the ICZ and ISZS around the world.

Dov Por chaired the Organizing Committee of the successful XVIII ICZ in Athens, Greece in 2000 and played a key role in the establishment of the ISZS in Beijing, China in 2004. He is President Emeritus of ISZS. He has helped to define the ICZ and ISZS as the pre-eminent forum andvoice of zoologists globally and continues to promote the ICZ and ISZS through his work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
