In recognition of his exemplary contribution to and his indefatigable effort in organizing and promoting the ICZ and ISZS around the world.

Yiyu Chen chaired the Organizing Committee of the successful XIV ICZ and had a key role in the establishment of the ISZS in Beijing, China in 2004. He has helped to define the ICZ and ISZS as the pre-eminent forum and voice of zoologists globally and continues to promote the ICZ and ISZS through his work at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.
