The 14th International Symposium of Integrative Zoology (ISIZ) will be held on October 22-24, 2024 in Beijing, China. The theme of this symposium is "Balancing Zoological Challenges with Sustainable Development", to discuss wildlife protection and management during increasing anthropogenic impact and climate change. The symposium is organized by the International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS).
Sustainable development challenges us to meet the world's current needs whilst not compromising the state of our planet for future generations. Environmental protection and biodiversity conservation are important components of sustainable development. Wildlife protection and management are central parts to maintaining ecological services and biodiversity conservation.
Accelerated global environmental change and the impact of human activity impose serious challenges to wildlife protection and management, such as biodiversity loss, biological invasion, and disease transmission. This symposium aims to exchange advances in zoology that contribute to the research and management of wildlife, and to discuss strategies of coexistence between a growing human with increasing demands on ecosystems and wildlife.
The theme of the symposium will include all aspects of zoology, such as animal behavior, animal physiology, animal ecology, biological invasion, conservation biology, zoonotic diseases and environmental ethics. This year is the 135th anniversary of the International Congress of Zoology (ICZ) and the 20thanniversary of the International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS). During the symposium, special celebrations are planned, in recognition of the re-establishment of ICZ and the formation of ISZS.

5. Travel insurance and China visa: All invited guests and general participants should cover their own insurance to cover any necessary healthcare and in case of travel delays. Attendees from outside of China should obtain their own China travel visa, for which the organizers will provide a letter of invitation for registered attendees.

7. Funding: The organizers will cover the cost of the invited guests attending the meeting. General participants should cover their only cost attending the meeting (incl. hotel accommodation and transportation).
