The 15th International Symposium on Integrative Zoology (ISIZ) will be held in Wuhan, China, from October 30 to 31, 2026 (arrival on October 29; departure on November 1). The theme of this symposium is “Ecology, Evolution, and Society (EES)”, aiming to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on EES and to explore how emerging tools such as AI, metagenome, ect. can support biodiversity conservation, public health, resource management, and sustainable development.
The symposium is organized by the International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS), and co-hosted by the School of Life Sciences, Central China Normal University; the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Zoological Society of Hubei Province; and the Hubei International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Ecology and Environment. It is sponsored by the Department of International Affairs, China Association of Science and Technology, and by Integrative Zoology.
The meeting will cover broad aspects of zoology, such as animal behavior, animal physiology, animal ecology and evolution, biological invasion, conservation biology, zoonotic diseases and environmental ethics.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Integrative Zoology, the official journal of ISZS. This journal emphasizes integrative and interdisciplinary studies which deal with the current ecological and environmental crises. We will take this opportunity to discuss strategies for future development of the journal.
